UK Premier League and Swiss National Team footballer Xherdan Shaqiri has partnered with joiz Global, the creator of an innovative, award-winning community marketing and social TV platform, to build and launch his own free interactive app. The first of its kind from a Swiss footballer, the app features a range of functions designed to connect, unite and build the international sports star’s fan community. With live streaming, video on demand, news, messaging and chat capabilities, the app seamlessly combines a range of joiz Global technologies to create a comprehensive entertainment platform. As the competition heats up for the UEFA European Championship, the app features exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews for fans to get the inside track on the tournament.

Xherdan Shaqiri’s app is available free of charge for both iOS and Android users and can be downloaded now via the Apple App Store and Google Play.

“Xherdan Shaqiri’s new app provides the ideal way for him to connect directly with his fans,” says Alexander Mazzara, Co-Founder and CEO, joiz Group. “It’s a great example of how athletes, celebrities and all high profile figures can utilise the exclusive joiz technology to interact with their followers and build an active, engaged community. As well as communicating with his fanbase wherever they are in the world, the app offers Shaqiri a whole host of creative ways to work with his sponsors and business partners.”

“My new app is incredibly useful and a whole lot of fun,” said Shaqiri. “I can stay in touch with my fans everywhere, at any time, and give them instant access to exclusive live streaming sessions, videos and competitions. It’s the perfect way for my fans to communicate with me and with each other as well as keeping up to date with all my latest news.”

Shaqiri’s dedicated app was created using joiz Global’s unique proprietary technology. With its functionality organised over two intuitive menus on either side of the main content area, the app includes a wide range of video content, available on demand, plus all the latest Shaqiri news. Fans can create their own profiles, chat with each other, comment on videos and posts and send messages and questions directly to Shaqiri himself. During the first round of the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament, fans can enter competitions each day to win shirts signed by Shaqiri within the app.

Videos feature the international footballer in training and personal tours of his home in Stoke-on-Trent and his regular live streaming sessions give fans exclusive access to the sports star at work and play. The international app has been designed to appeal to fans everywhere with both English and German language content, subtitled as required, and new content is regularly posted throughout the week. Additionally, Shaqiri’s partners Volkswagen, Coke, Nike and Hublot have the opportunity to utilise the app as an innovative new marketing channel. Branded entertainment campaigns are being produced by joiz Global in cooperation with Shaqiri. In addition, joiz Global is selling advertising in the app.
