Objective

AMC Global acquired the exclusive rights to premiere the first season of NOS4A2, an atmospheric, supernatural horror story based on the bestselling novel by Joe Hill (son of Stephen King) and starring Zachary Quinto and Ashley Cummings. The series follows a gifted young woman (Cummings) who discovers she has supernatural abilities which put her on a collision course with the evil and immortal Charlie Manx (played by Quinto). The series premiered on AMC across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

Tactics

A dynamic international PR campaign was developed to support the exclusive launch of NOS4A2 on AMC. Lead actor Zachary Quinto was enlisted to participate in a major promotional tour of Europe and Latin America for a series of well-attended press junkets, screenings, special events and Q&A sessions. The campaign also included telephone interviews with journalists across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

Results

NOS4A2 won Series Launch of the Year at the prestigious Content Innovation Awards and was praised by critics and reviewers. Den of Geek in the UK called the drama “chilling and fantastic,” while UOL in Brazil said it had “everything to become your new terror addiction.” Time Out in Portugal said the show was “perfect for those who love when horror is more than just scares,” while Player in Hungary said it had “the most unique atmosphere for a television show ever.”
